Pastoral Supervision is:
An agreed, regular, planned, confidential and intentional space in which a practitioner skilled in professional/pastoral supervision meets with one or more ministers (the supervisee) to consider together the practice of ministry with a view to enhancing the supervisees’ ethical practices, personal wellbeing and effectiveness in ministry and their ministry relationships.
Along with the appropriate qualifications, we expect Pastoral Supervisors to be:
- Able (capable and experienced)
- Approachable (good interpersonal and rapport-building skills)
- Emotionally Perceptive (intuitive observers and reflectors)
- Wise (discerning and knowledgeable)
- Able to uphold Faithfulness in Service and foster an environment conducive to the advancement of Anglican Ministry in the Sydney Diocese.
Please be candid in your comments – the contents will remain confidential to the supervision management team.
