Pastoral Supervision is:
An agreed, regular, planned, confidential and intentional space in which a practitioner skilled in professional/pastoral supervision meets with one or more ministers (the supervisee) to consider together the practice of ministry with a view to enhancing the supervisees’ ethical practices, personal wellbeing and effectiveness in ministry and their ministry relationships.

Along with the appropriate qualifications, we expect Pastoral Supervisors to be:

  1. Able (capable and experienced)
  2. Approachable (good interpersonal and rapport-building skills)
  3. Emotionally Perceptive (intuitive observers and reflectors)
  4. Wise (discerning and knowledgeable)
  5. Able to uphold Faithfulness in Service and foster an environment conducive to the advancement of Anglican Ministry in the Sydney Diocese.
