Supervisor background information
I am interested in helping ministry staff independently reflect on how they are managing themselves to optimise their ministry and avoid burn out.
My approach is a session that is a mix of case discussion plus topics outlined from the beginning of supervision or as per a curriculum. Length of the session can be up to 2 hours but will be part of our initial agreement. Between sessions I may be contactable by phone – this will be negotiated in our first meeting.
I expect supervisees to be committed to the supervision appointment and to give 24 hours’ notice of any change to an appointment. Cost for sessions will be $110 per session + GST. I expect supervisees to set the supervision meeting agenda for at least half the session and preferably the whole session although this can be done in consultation with the supervisor. I expect supervisees to keep their own notes / reflections of each session that trace what they are learning. Expectations regarding issues of confidentiality and ethical considerations will be addressed in our first session and will be considered regularly thereafter.
I am an AHPRA registered psychologist and have been an accredited supervisor for psychology. Most recently I have provided supervision to one church worker for 24+ months and previously, people seeking registration as psychologists in which there is content that has to be covered, reports at 6 and 12 months that have to be prepared reviewing the progress of the supervisee, as well as preparation for an exam to be considered. I am a currently working privately as a psychologist with Direct Focus Solutions in Wollongong and have worked as a casual school counsellor working Kindergarten to Year 12 a day and a half per week and have 26 years’ experience in a range of counselling positions in the Department of Education including the role of Principal Psychologist.
I have Combined Malpractice, Public and Products Liability Insurance through AON current to 5 May 2026.
I have studied several subjects through Sydney Missionary and Bible College. I have been a church warden for fifteen years until recently when my daughter and son-in-law were employed on staff I stood down. I worked as a volunteer with Anglican Aid between 2013 and 2019. I was a member of the Sydney Diocesan Parish Support Team.
From 2015 until 2023 I have volunteered with Eternity Aid which visited Bourke (and for a shorter period of years, Taree) once each school term for four days. Eternity Aid had an allied health team which worked in the preschools to screen children to identify any additional supports that may promote smooth transition into school; and a school’s team that works to enhance students’ transition from term 3 of Year 5 primary school to term 4 of Year 7 high school; as well as working in the community to link with the various agencies and groups present.
I have studied a number of courses through the Family Systems Institute.
I am interested to be a listener and to probe to assist people in ministry to reflect on issues of concern to them in their ministry: what they did, decisions they are considering, exploring and assessing the risks of those decisions, as well as how to maintain yourself for effective ministry.
A supervision contract will be developed in consultation with the supervisee under the following headings:
1. Goals and Objectives
2. Context and Content
3. Process
4. Duties and Responsibilities
5. Review
